SUPA Tennis Programmes & pathways

Tennis
for every age.

Every player — from a three-year-old swinging a foam racquet to a competitive junior preparing for tournaments to a corporate team learning together — trains under the same methodology, with the same three coaches, at the same standard.

A pathway,
not a programme.

Five stages. Ages three to twelve and beyond. We follow the ROGY progression model used by the ITF, USTA and every leading academy worldwide — smaller courts, slower balls, age-appropriate equipment. A child who starts at Baby Tennis can stay with the same coach all the way through Yellow Ball.

№ 01

Baby Tennis

Ages 3 – 4

First steps onto a court — the joy before the technique.

A playful introduction designed for children as young as three. Sessions emphasise movement, balance, hand-eye coordination, and rhythm — the motor skills that prepare a child for tennis without yet looking like tennis. We use oversized foam balls, mini racquets, and a play-led format that keeps the experience fun.

Builds coordination, balance and rhythm — the foundation for any sport
Sessions are short, playful, and led by a coach experienced with very young children
Often the first taste of structured movement — no pressure, no scoring

Red Ball

Ages 5 – 7

The ball gets predictable. The fun gets serious.

Red ball stage is where children begin to play recognisable tennis — on a smaller court, with a slower, lower-bouncing ball that gives them time to track, move, and make contact. The focus is on rallying, simple scoring, and building the confidence that comes from succeeding on every shot.

First proper rallies — children leave the lesson having actually played tennis
Forehand, backhand, basic serve and volley introduced through games, not drills
Group format works well at this age — high energy, shared laughter

Orange Ball

Ages 8 – 10

Where children stop taking lessons and start identifying as players.

Orange ball builds on the foundation. The court is bigger, the ball is faster, and proper technique starts to matter. Children develop consistent groundstrokes, learn to construct points, and begin to understand the tactical side of the game. This is where many children fall in love with tennis for life.

Green Ball

Ages 10 – 12

The full court. The full game. Slightly slower.

Green ball is the bridge to adult tennis. The court is now full size, but the ball is still about 25% slower than a standard yellow — giving young players the time to develop tactical thinking, court positioning, and the patterns of point construction. Most parents see their child look like a 'real' tennis player at this stage.

Yellow Ball

Ages 12+

Adult equipment. Junior heart. Real tennis.

Yellow ball is full tennis — the same ball, court, and net height as professional play. By this age, technique is being refined rather than introduced; sessions blend technical work, tactical drills, fitness, and competitive match play. Players choose their own path: keep it social and recreational, or commit to the tournament track.

Technical refinement — grip, swing path, weight transfer, recovery
Tactical depth — patterns, percentages, decision-making under pressure
Tournament prep available — local, regional, and ITF junior circuits

Begin

Whichever stage
you’re at.

Adults learn tennis on a different timeline to children — faster on tactics, slower on muscle memory. We adapt the lesson plan accordingly. Three formats, all with the same coaches and methodology.

Beginner

First-time players

Never picked up a racquet, or last played in school? We use the same orange and green ball progression we use with kids — slower bounces give you the time to rally successfully from your first lesson. You’ll play tennis in week one, not month three.

Intermediate

Returning & recreational

Already play, but want consistency, fewer unforced errors, a better serve? Sessions focus on technical refinement and tactical clarity — building the patterns that turn enthusiastic players into reliable ones. Live points in every session.

Advanced

Competitive & quality hitting

Tournament-level adult, club player, or just hold your own at a high standard? Our hitting partner sessions and advanced coaching focus on point construction, weapons development, and the small details — serve placement, return depth, movement patterns — that separate good from sharp.

A note for adult beginners.  Many adults who try tennis once and give up were simply put on a full yellow ball before they were ready. The orange and green ball progression isn’t just for kids — it’s the fastest way for any beginner of any age to start rallying. Most adult students transition to a yellow ball within a few sessions.

Tennis as a
workplace benefit.

Companies in Singapore are increasingly choosing tennis over the traditional team-building formats. It’s social, healthy, and works across fitness levels. We design corporate programmes around the size of your team, the schedule, and the venue.

Built around your team.

Whether your team is two senior partners looking for after-work coaching, twenty staff attending a quarterly wellness day, or an executive group hosting clients on court, we shape the programme around what you actually need.

Pricing is bespoke — based on group size, frequency, and venue. We’ll suggest the right format after a short conversation.

Discuss a corporate programme
Weekly staff sessions
Recurring small-group lessons for staff at a fixed condo or club court — healthy, social, retained.
Team-building day
Half-day or full-day events for groups of 10–30. Mixed levels welcome — we structure around fitness rather than ability.
Executive & client coaching
Discreet one-to-one or two-to-one lessons for senior staff, including private hotel courts for client-facing events.

And the
rest.

Beyond the kids progression and corporate programmes, we offer the standard formats most SUPA players choose — covered in detail on the homepage.

Not sure which programme is right?  A discounted first lesson is the fastest way to find out — we’ll watch you (or your child) play, suggest the right starting point, and put together a plan. No commitment beyond that first session.
